How to configure a Balboa control system: general rules - Click to enlarge

All Balboa control systems have their own features, but some general and common installation rules apply, so that you are less likely to make mistakes when connecting the cables and equipment.

First of all, please note that the connections of your new control system will not necessarily be identical to the old ones. Do not rely on the connections on your old system, but only on the documentation for the new model.

For example, you might want to install a three-phase power supply, whereas all our control systems are pre-configured for a single-phase power connection. It is almost always possible to wire up the system for three-phase electricity, but there is a modification to be made to the motherboard before connecting it. Read the documentation carefully, as you may burn out the motherboard if the connections are incorrect. You must only follow the installation guide for the new model.

This documentation is available on the Tubs Parts web site on the product pages of each Balboa system. We also provide you with the installation guide in paper format when sending the ordered control system.

As a reminder, all connections, switch modifications and jumper movements must be switched off at the main circuit breaker.
