If you want to change the grating on your suction fittings but you can't find the same model, it is possible that it isn't on the market anymore.
Many american manufacturers - who represent most worldwide spa suppliers - stopped making several models since the VGB (Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act) was voted in 2008.
To avoid having users become stuck against the pump's suction point, security measures were reinforced. Most gratings became safer by making the holes smaller, and by giving them an anti-vortex system which prevents suction effects.
These new rules don't mean that you have to buy and install a whole new suction fitting as well as the desired grating, because there are cheaper and easier solutions. Measure the diameters of the grating and the thread to find a similar sized grating. The sizes can vary by a couple millimeters, or the holes might not be in the right place. In that case you can use waterproof tape, glue, new inox screws, or make a new ring to adapt your suction fitting to your new grating.
